Thickness: plied thread - about equivalent to using two out of the six plies of a standard embroidery floss

*Cupro is a type of rayon made by dissolving cotton cellulose with cuprammonium salts and spinning the resulting solution into filaments. The chemicals used are free of compounds toxic to health or the environment. Cupro is biodegradable.

indigo dyed cupro*****Posted by Maura T on April 9 2024 at 22:52Lindsay has some lovely threads-- I had never heard of cupro before , it is a really lovely stitching thread with a nice "feel" and also from recycled cotton! In view of its recycled history I will be using it along with textiles that are repurposed or recycled thrift shop finds . arrived quickly and as usual -- beautifully packaged - it felt like I was getting a surprise gift! lovely experience!

Today’s temporary workspace
Whizzing through the sunny landscape and making little stitches. Definitely a happy place🤗
🌒Dark morning kitchen windowsill. It’s wild and windy in this wee corner of the world - definitely a woolly hat needed to walk with the bold boy shortly 🐾

The retreat takes place late March in a comfortable rural farmhouse just 30 mins from Edinburgh.
Three nights, two full days to relax, enjoy workshops, stitch, knit, read, walk and eat good food (and 🍰).

🧶🧵📕Bags within bags on my train journey home from Aberdeen. Knitting and stitching and book on iPad and snacks and water and charger
and and and …
I possibly overestimated what I might get done🙄
🧳🎒Packing lots and lots of amazing quality handwork into my case and rucksack. All produced by Indian artisans from several different states - and all off to Aberdeen with me tomorrow.
A win-win - I can talk about my favourite textiles and I get lots of 🚂 time to knit and stitch🤗
🍐Still life with rotting pears, leek seed head and rose petals.
You’re welcome.
